A/N: For lys_cookie because she’s feelin’ kinda down. It’s not quite what I wanted to give you, but it’s all I have at the moment.

We’re monsters. According to the World Government and their dogs, we’re almost inhuman. Our fighting makes us dangerous. Our dreams make us strange. That we follow a grinning man in a strawhat makes us… well… certifiably insane.

 

For the most part – probably closer to the whole – we completely agree. But what people don’t count on – what the world doesn’t count on – is our willingness to give our lives to and for our Captain.

 

Not because he’s strong; not because he can fight; not even because of his will to continue when all the odds are against him. It’s because of what we are. As individuals we’re monsters but together?

 

We’re nakama. And that’s enough.
