Prompt: Fingernails
With an appearance as immaculate as his, it was a little surprising to find his hands in the condition that they were in. Calloused palms, dry skin, torn cuticles and horribly enough, dirt under his fingernails. How had he let that happen? He was supposed to be perfect to greet the ladies and serve their beautiful selves with the meals that he cooked. Looking closer he could see teeth marks. When had he taken to biting them?
A frown marred his features and as he squinted, trying to get a closer look at the self-mutilation, a shadow fell over him and his hands were taken up by those of similar nature. He watched as blunt fingers rubbed gently against his skin, trying to smooth out the surface. The fingers stilled and a head bent over his palms, warm breath washing over them, sending a shiver up his spine. A light kiss was placed on each, lips lingering for a moment longer then absolutely necessary.
His fingers were curled in on themselves and the fists grasped lightly; no pressure, no pain, no movement beyond shallow breathing. He could feel the cracked edges of his nails digging into his skin but he didn’t dare to release the others hold. It was hard to tell what the other was thinking as he didn’t want to chance looking into eyes but a whispered voice across his ear and all the tension vanished from his stance.
“Perfect.”

Yes. The crack has a special place in my brain, whereas this stuff lurks towards the front and makes the occasional bid for freedom.
