Smoker frowned as he watched the brat amble amongst his marines, hearty greetings following in his wake.

 

Why the hell had he let them become so comfortable around him? So… welcoming?

 

The grinning bastard turned to him and sauntered over, hips swaying just a little more dangerously. He couldn’t have been more than three feet away when he veered off and ran into Smokers’ second, causing the accident prone girl to stumble and shriek.

 

“Portgas-san, it’s good to see you.”

 

“And you too, Tashigi-san.”

 

Smoker ground down on his cigars, tobacco floating to his lap as he bit the ends off. As he reached for two more, annoyingly warm hands covered his eyes.

 

“Guess who?”

 

The need to pitch the brat overboard grew in Smokers’ mind. “Get off my ship, Portgas.”

 

“Aww c’mon, Taisa. You’re no fun.”

 

Smoker reached for his lighter, knowing that the idiot would beat him to it. The heavy drop into his lap was definitely unexpected, slightly welcoming and most assuredly not protocol. He glanced around the deck and noticed his crew was conveniently occupied.

 

“Damn it, Portgas.” The brat’s full grin caused his stomach – not his heart – to tilt slightly.

 

“Now now, Taisa. Be nice.” Smokers’ hand tightened convulsively on the hips he held. He blinked. What the hell?

 

“Where the hell do you get off, brat?” The leer that was presented to him had him backing up his thoughts. “I MEAN, for you to come wandering on to MY ship, causing a ruckus?”

 

“A ruckus, Taisa? Just because I’m of higher class than you?”

 

Smoker stilled and growled out his next word. “What?”

 

“Taisa, Taisa. I’m more socially adept than you, so they accept me a lot easier. Me? High class. You? Not so much.”

 

Would the brat drown if he threw him overboard?
