Title: Captured Moment

Pairing: Sunnyship but not really

A/N: Prompt from Sybile: artist!usopp …take 2 ~~ The first one was just a little too…creepy.

It just wasn’t going to work.

 

Usopp packed his equipment away as once again, the sitting dissolved into chaos. What did Nami expect, asking him to draw everyone looking somewhat respectable? He understood that she was particular about the image they presented, but they were pirates. Not exactly the most reputable occupation.

 

A clump of grass went flying past his nose and thumped against the wall. Was it even possible for them to sit still long enough? Did they have that kind of attention span? Alright, he would admit that most of them did but outside of battle, in one big group and in such a small area…

 

It was like anarchy personified.

 

He glanced back at the circus, deep in thought. Would he end up seriously hurt if he followed through with his current thoughts? Probably not much more than if he didn’t do it at all. That decision made, he plonked himself against the nearest tree and turned to a fresh page.

 

When he handed the completed picture to Nami later that day – much, much later – he was prepared for the punishment. He watched her face carefully and was a little shocked at the small smile. He looked over her shoulder and couldn’t really help smiling himself. The embodiment of the crew, captured forever.

 

Franky, in his SUPER pose; Robin, a calm smile and immersed a book; Chopper and Luffy, mouths full of food and sticks up their noses; Nami, her fist raised and a foot planted on Luffy’s head; Brook, doing some strange jig with violin in hand; Zoro and Sanji in a heated argument, their hands and feet speaking for them; and Usopp (the only time he would ever give in and draw his real reaction), turned away screaming from some object being thrown at him.

 

Oh yes, he could see why everyone was so scared of them. The Strawhat crew were completely insane.

This gives me warm, squishy feelings for the Straw-hats. That is why everyone's terrified of them -- they're badass and completely batshit insane at the same time. It's quite the combo!

You provided well indeed, mistress!

If you notice, most often enemies don't take the Straw-hats seriously until after their asses are kicked. Perhaps overconfidence leads to their eventual (inevitable) downfall...

Mistress prefers the act of giving. It's just so much more rewarding~

That's because enemies are stupid and like to taunt those with good intentions (even when it looks like some of the good guys should really be bad guys because the scowl is sexy...uuuh, yeah). We'll just continue to laugh and point and then we'll cheer when they finally fall into a pit of dispair because they never learn. XD
