A/N: Up to chapter 70something. I was re-reading and out it popped.

I try to keep you safe. I try to keep you protected from everything that would see you destroyed. Why would you do something like that? Why would you accept an unreasonable punishment because you thought it was your fault? It’s not your fault. Not even close. I will NOT let you take on a grudge that does not belong to you. I have every intention of keeping you from harm, self-inflicted or not, conscious or not. Stop being a pawn in everyone’s game and for the love of all that’s holy, don’t hurt for me. You’re worth so much more.

Nice ♥ I could really see Doumeki feeling this way. Watanuki hurts for everybody else, I'm sure Doumeki doesn't want it to be the same way for him.
